Vallekilde Højskole – New Dining Hall & Kitchen
ARCHITECT: Rolvung og Brøndsted Arkitekter
CLIENT: Vallekilde Højskole
LOCATION: Vallekilde – Denmark
CONTENT: New dining hall and kitchen / Transformation of existing dining hall and kitchen
Cadman produced the architectural visualizations and motion sequences for Rolvung og Brøndsted Arkitekter’s proposal for a new dining hall and kitchen at Vallekilde Højskole.
A New Dining Hall in the Park
The new building is composed of three connected volumes, each with its own pitched roof. Toward the park, the roofs form an open and airy dining hall with wide views of the landscape and the rest of the school. On the opposite side, three masonry cores house the kitchen and its facilities.

An Open and Flexible Interior
The dining hall opens toward three sides, with views stretching from the park to the rest of the school. Pairs of timber columns structure the room, creating circulation routes and smaller spatial zones within one continuous space.
The result is a dining hall that can accommodate up to 165 people while still feeling comfortable when used by smaller groups.
